This past month, I've been reading a book with a really bullshitty title -- but it's good, I promise! Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance tells the story of how simply "showing up" matters more at the end to any enterprise, calling or hobby.
Toward the end of the book, the author interviews Jamie Dimon, the CEO of the company I've worked at for 2+ years now. Getting hired at Chase has been one of the best things that has happened to me. Working with such intelligent and driven people has taught me to cut the fat, so to speak, and continually push myself to achieve excellence.
I only hope that if I have children someday, I can instill the same hunger to keep pushing forward, endlessly.
